Condolence From: Put-in-Bay Community Swim & Sail, Put-in-Bay, Ohio
Condolence: Kathy and family,

We are saddened to hear of Ray's unexpected passing, and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. When speaking with Ray, his love for sailing and his passion for youth sailing was very clear. Ray mentioned several times how excited he was to see Scott's laser go to our sailing program, and that he would look forward to seeing it on the water during Jr. Bay week, where he and Kathy would take their Catalina 34 to watch all the young sailors. He spoke of those who volunteered and participated in this regatta as "such good people"; Ray and your family are certainly included in this group of sailing families and friends. While we will miss having him there in person, we know he will be there in spirit. Fair winds and following seas, Ray.

Our most sincere condolences,

Put-in-Bay Community Swim & Sail

Condolence From: Mike Petsch, Dayton, OH
Condolence: I was shocked to hear about Ray’s passing. It seems almost unbelievable that we are left now only with our memories of the time spent together.

Those images will remain etched into our subconscious minds, only to be triggered during unexpected events. It’s hard to believe he’s gone. Perhaps i’ll catch a fleeting glimpse of him out of the corner of my eye while walking down E dock. Maybe his shadow will briefly appear across the bow from the cockpit of my boat in the fading sunset with my own distorted reality.

His friendly greetings and our serious conversations together will be dearly missed. Please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Condolence: Kathy,

Like many others I’m shocked about Ray’s passing. Since I only knew him from the horse show side of things and the dedication of you both to the technical part of keeping a show running smoothly, his obituary shed much light on what the other half of his life consisted of making him even more of a joy to be around. I am so very, very sorry for your loss
