Obituary for August Ruzicka

Condolence: My heartfelt sympathy to the Ruzicka family. I have very fond memories of all those years at Sand Lake with both the Ruzicka and Kerns families and other fond memories beyond that, hanging out with the kids and Lucy at the Ruzicka "farm" as well as all the union picnics and other events at the Dispatch Country Club. "Uncle" Gus and Linda were great friends to my parents. I'm very grateful for them helping my sister and I during the hard times with my mother. Rest in eternal peace, "Uncle", you were one of the greatest humans on the planet.

Condolence: What a nice man! As a wet-behind-the-ears 22 year old Ad Service employee, Gus took me under his wing and steered me in the right direction as I progressed Toto the Editorial Department. Gus was always there to to lend an ear or give a piece of advice. Gus always had a smile and was never negative in his guidance. My condolences to Linda and his family. (My favorite Gus line: after telling him I thought we shared a paternal grandmother, Gus smiled and said, “Well he’ll Matt, EVERYBODY in the South End is related!”
