Condolences

Condolence From: Tom Rutan, Grove City, Ohio
Condolence: The name Larry Rood brings a big smile to my face. I worked in the schools for over 50 years and he remains one of my all time favorites. From officiating the very first Westland/ Pleasant View Alumni Basketball Tournament to spending a day enjoying the Memorial Golf Tournament together, we were friends, colleagues and like-minded educators. We always wanted what was best for kids. I will miss him.

Condolence From: John and Liz Ballard, Grove City, OH
Condolence: What a remarkable guy. So full of life and so much fun to be around. We enjoyed many years teaching together at WHS and playing cards with the "gang". He always had a good story, regardless of the subject. Some seemed a little "farfetched" but you soon learned not to question their authenticity. I'm going to miss those good times. A special note of condolence to Amber and Tony. Your dad impacted many lives and will be missed terribly by lots of people. I feel fortunate to have known him.

Condolence From: Raymondr Kiersh, SARASOTA, FL
Condolence: Thank you, Larry for inviting me to join your football crew back in 1987. The memories of those Friday nights will never fade away. Thank for being my mentor and a great friend. I will also remember our lunch meetings where we relived our games and our phone conversations when we couldn't meet for lunch. Save me a spot on your "angelic" football crew where bad calls can't be made. I doubt I can make it to your Celebration of Life as travel for me is difficult. I will always have you in my memory and my prayers Oh and you
can bet your sweet---- I'm a turtle. R.I.P Larry

Condolence: What a wonderful obituary capturing the essence of this man. Those of us who graduated from Pleasant View High School considered him ours! Fun, affection, and humor were such a part of Larry. "Are you a turtle?" You bet your sweet ass I am!

Condolence From: Lynne Hoffman, Marietta, GA
Condolence: How do you say goodbye to someone who’s known you your entire life? Larry was the oldest cousin in our family who always had a smile on his face and a chuckle he shared with all who knew him. I never saw him in a bad mood and his demeanor reminded me of his mother, Aunt Lavera. He loved sharing stories, helping people and learning all about you. He taught me how to drive! He was a blessing to my aging mother while driving her to Dr.’s appointments, taking her to Westerville’s Senior group “ Still Going Strong” and sharing meals. I loved the closeness he had with his younger brothers, Gordon and Bill. He was a good man. My four children loved him and God gained a righteous soldier in His Kingdom this week. Rest in Peace dear cousin.
