Obituary for Betty Oliver

Betty Wise Oliver, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13^th, 2023 in Westerville, Ohio. Born in White Plains, NY to the late Harold and Elizabeth Wise, she grew up in nearby Scarsdale, graduating from Rogers Hall, Lowell, MA and Wheaton College in Norton, MA. In 1958, she married Wallace Oliver whom she had met while they were both working for Owens Corning Fiberglass in New York City. Betty enjoyed volunteering and was very involved at her children’s schools while the family lived in Pittsburgh, PA. She shared her compassion and care for others as a volunteer at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC. After settling in Westerville, she enjoyed singing in the church choir and playing bridge with friends. Most of all, Betty cared deeply for her family and loved the time spent together with them. Her smile and compassion will continue to shine on through them. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by husband Wallace, brother Robert Wise and sister Jeanne Kelly. She is survived by son, W. Brooks Oliver (Susan), daughters Elizabeth Delp (Ed), Liane Shultz (Allen), Leslie Oliver, grandsons Wesley and Alex Delp and Ethan Oliver, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private ceremony to remember and celebrate her life. Interment will take place at a later date at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Arrangements are being handled by Hill Funeral Home, Westerville, Ohio.
