Obituary for William John Sedor

William “Bill” John Sedor age 91 of Galena passed into eternal life October 2, 2014. Bill was a member of the Ohio State 1942 National Championship Football team. WW II Army veteran serving in North African Theater. He taught 40 years in the Columbus School System with appointments at Linden McKinley, Central High School and South East Career Center, teaching machine trades in Industrial Arts. A life long member of St Paul Catholic Church serving on many committees. Involvements included memberships in The Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as Westerville AmVets Post 89 and Ohio State UniversityVarsity “O” Club. Preceded in death by parents, Mary and Max, brothers, Joe, Martin and Paul, sister Mary, wife, Margaret Ann, son, John William, wife, Shirley Ruth, infant daughter, Kathleen Ann and beloved companion Agnes Sopko. Survived by children Judith Louise (Robert Widing) Sedor Widing and Thomas Andrew; grandsons, Jonathan William, Robert Emerson III and Joseph Gunnar; brother Edward. Friends may call 5 to 7 PM Monday at HILL Funeral Home, 220 S. State St., Westerville where The Knights of Columbus Service and Rosary will take place at 7 PM Monday. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St, Westerville. The Rev. Fr. Michael Hinterschied Celebrant. Interment Northlawn Cemetery.
