Obituary for Chris Ferguson

Christopher Shane Ferguson, 53, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.  Chris was born December 31, 1970, to Larry and Carol (Allen) Ferguson of Westerville.

 

Chris graduated from Westerville South High School in 1989, and then earned a degree in telecommunications from DeVry University.  After earning his degree, Chris lived and worked in Orange County, California, and then in Manassas, Virginia, before returning to the Westerville area, where he worked for the T. Marzetti Company for a period of time.  Beginning in 2000 until the time of his death, he worked for Lumen Technologies, where he was Team Lead over the Centurylink Technical Assistance Team, supporting business customers with voice call services.  He was a subject matter expert in his field, and there wasn’t a person or problem he couldn’t help with.

 

Chris was a dearly loved and devoted son, and a beloved brother, uncle, coworker, and friend.  He is survived by his parents, Larry and Carol, his brother Rod and sister-in-law Laura, nephews Cameron and Heath, niece Carly, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

 

Chris especially will be remembered for his ornery smile, kind soul, and invariable willingness to help others.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 21, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State St. in Westerville, with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Westerville Area Resource Ministry at warmwesterville.org.
