Obituary for Linda VanTassel

Linda VanTassel 1947-2024

Linda VanTassel

06/30/1947 - 01/08/2024

Linda Lou (Weber) VanTassel, age 76, of Westerville, passed away on January 8, 2024. She was born on June 30, 1947, to the late Lou and Dorothy (Armstrong) Weber.

Linda attended Linden-McKinley and graduated in 1965. After graduating she worked at Lazarus downtown Columbus where she met the love of her life for 58 years, Arthur VanTassel. Art and Linda settled in Westerville where she treasured her time as a stay home Mom. She later worked at Farmers Insurance and then retired from Chase. Linda enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking. Mostly Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and feeding anyone that came to visit. She loved to make tennis ball sized meatballs and homemade pasta.

Linda was devoted to her faith and the power of prayer. She was always that smiling face there to greet everyone on Sunday mornings and loved attending WOW activities at Westerville Christian Church where she was a member. For many years she headed the church prayer chain and would drop anything she was doing when a prayer request came.

Linda is survived by her husband, Arthur R. VanTassel Jr.; sons Arthur VanTassel III (Crystal), Robert (Krista) VanTassel, cherished grandsons Carter and Spencer, sister-in-law and good friend Anita Weber and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, George Weber.

The VanTassel family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State Street, Westerville, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memory Garden, in Westerville.

In memory of Linda, contributions may be made to Westerville Christian Church.
