Dr. Robert (Bob) Dalton, Age 61, passed away on Tuesday, December 26th.
He was born in Buffalo, New York, July 28th, 1962 to the Late Margaret and Robert S. Dalton. He is survived by his beautiful wife Gwyn Ann (Schwindt) Dalton, and his two wonderful children, Brennan Pio Dalton, Olivia Grace Dalton, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Bob dedicated his life to the relief of human suffering and empowerment of individuals for over 40-years. He graduated from Ohio University with a dual major in Business and Psychology. He graduated from the University of Dayton with a Master’s in Counseling. He subsequently attended The Ohio State University getting his Masters and Doctorate in Rehabilitation Psychology. Thereafter he attended a two-year post-doctoral specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology with the Fielding Graduate Institute.
He attended and later became a faculty member at the Gestalt Institute of Columbus. He served as a faculty member at Capital University, College of Behavioral Sciences and also The Ohio State University Department of Psychology (Newark). Bob served 11 ½ years in the Ohio Air National Guard with numerous deployments including in support of Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He worked at both Columbus based OhioHealth Rehabilitation Hospitals as well as OhioHealth Hospital of Mansfield. Despite the burden of his health concerns, and personal risks, he worked with covid patients throughout the pandemic.
He was a member of St Paul’s Catholic Church in Westerville for 32 years and has been gifted an extended and amazing church family, as well as those from work that he also considers his “spiritual family in service.”
