Obituary for Eileen C. Salmans

Eileen C. Salmans, 88 passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Ann’s Hospital.

She is preceded in death by Robert Salmans (husband) and Erin Weberg (Granddaughter)

She is survived by brother, Kenneth (Connie) Nicholas, daughters, Susan (Terry) Grooms and Lorianne Doyle, son, John (Victoria) Doyle, grandsons, Jeremy Hartsock, Jacob Hartsock, Spencer Hartsock, Andrew Grooms and Colin Doyle.  As well as 6 great grandchildren and many cousins.

Eileen was an avid reader up until entering the nursing facility and a member of Harlem Road Methodist Church. She loved her church family and the many friendships she developed there.

She was active in children's programs, participated in local mission work and women's fund raisers for the church. 

She enjoyed outings for lunch, movies, and musicals with her best friends.  She was a shopper and could be found out and about at her favorite places when still able to drive.  Eileen was a volunteer at St Ann's for 10 years on the maternity floor. 

Eileen loved the Buckeyes and watched the football games religiously.  She loved attending her son’s high school and college football games.  Eventually attending her grandson's high-school and travel team football and baseball games. 

She was a loving mother and grandmother with a big heart and great smile.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Friends may call 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, November 26, 2023, at HILL FUNERAL HOME, Westerville where services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 27, 2023, followed by interment at New Lexington Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute in her memory to Harlem Road Methodist Church.
