Obituary for James Nagel

James Nagel 1963-2023

James Nagel

08/31/1963 - 11/04/2023

James F. Nagel, age 60, of Lewis Center OH passed away on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 after battling cancer.

In loving memory of Jim (aka "Boo-Boo"), a quick-witted, hard-working, and committed individual whose loyalty knew no bounds. He was a source of humor and laughter for all. He had a unique and one-of-a-kind personality and a boisterous laugh that warmed the heart. His devotion to family and friends was unwavering, and he had a remarkable ability to bring smiles to the faces of those around him.  He was not only a skilled golfer but in his college days an All-American baseball pitcher.  Jim's memory will forever be etched in our hearts as we celebrate a life well-lived and the indelible mark he left on our lives.   He was a person of faith and a follower of Christ who will continue to inspire and uplift those touched by his life.

He was a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Church, he volunteered for Life Line of Ohio and supported many missionary activities.  Jim worked for ODW Logistics, Inc., and was proud to belong to the ODW family.

He is survived by his loving wife Jane, of 33 years.  He was a loving and dedicated father to their six children: Ben (Arturo), Daniel, AJ (Molly), Evi, Maddie, and Jackie. His role as a father was a testament to his deep love and commitment to family, leaving behind a legacy of love and values that will continue to guide and inspire his children.

Jim was a cherished son, born to Donna and Frederick (aka "Yogi") Nagel, and he shared a special bond with his sister, Chris Scero (Rick). The close-knit Nagel family and extended family provided Jim with a strong foundation of love and support throughout his life.

Jim is also survived by two adoring grandchildren, Grayson and Lucy. These young souls brought immense joy and happiness into his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Visitation will be held at Hill Funeral Home on Monday, November 13, 2023, 4-7 pm.
