Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Otterbein Cemetery, Westerville, OH.

So very sorry for your loss. Betty and I enjoyed many years in CCL, and she was a very sweet and friendly lady. We used to talk on the phone about every month, but a year or so ago, we lost contact, I’ve thought about her so much.

Betty Jane Recob passed away on July 11, 2023.

She was proceeded in death by her husband James and her son John. She was born on February 17, 1927, to Alfred and Edith Marian Knight in Columbus, Ohio. Following graduation from West High School, she went to work for the telephone company while Jim joined the Navy and went to the Philippines. When he returned at the end of WWII they enrolled at Otterbein College. Jim and Betty married in 1947, and Jim continued at Otterbein.

After graduating from Otterbein Jim attended Bonebreak Theological Seminary. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to everyone she met.

She is survived by her daughter Jane and her husband Mike, her grandson Nicholas and his wife Sarah and her granddaughter Laura. A graveside service will be held on July 29th at 10am at Otterbein Cemetery, 175 South Knox St. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Otterbein University in Betty’s and Jim’s names.
