Evelyn Pollard – A resident of Woodward Park, Columbus, Ohio for 41 years, Evelyn went to be with her maker on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the grand age of 96.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Ernest (Ernie) Pollard, her parents, Howard B and Erma D Bradford, brothers, Edgar (WWII), Harold and Malcolm. Survived by brother Gerald (Joyce) Bradford, daughters Marlene (Dan) Sahr, Marcella and Marsha Pollard, sons, Mahlon (Chanh) Pollard and Myron Pollard, Grandchildren, Mara (John) Csokmay, Mason Pollard, Joe Sahr, Kim (Brad) Mather, Troy (Jodi) Eblin and Melissa Stone. Several Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-great Grandchildren.

A 1943 graduate of Grove City High School, Evelyn worked for Curtiss Wright as a Fabricator and Riviter on the WWII plane fuselage. And while working as a waitress she attended the Bustine Beauty School and then meeting her future husband, Ernie while barbering. Evelyn lived on E. Broadway, Westerville, Ohio, for 20 years. While raising 5 of her own children she also babysat many, many children in her home. Many of these children benefitted from her love and care, (as well as some of the parents). In 1970 she was presented the ‘Mother of the Year’ award. In Evelyn’s later years she enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and playing Rummy, Checkers and Chinese Checkers and her favorite games, Dominos and Scrabble. Evelyn’s love, smile, and laughter will be greatly missed by all her knew her and loved her.
