Larry Lee English, 83, a 48 year resident of Westerville, avid fan of OSU Athletics, The Browns & The Guardians, completed the final leg of his life’s journey Tuesday afternoon, March 6, 2023, in St Ann’s Hospital, Westerville.
Larry had spent five days in the Palliative Care Unit at St Ann’s following a catastrophic stroke he suffered at home Friday morning, March 3.
He had spent the previous nine months recovering from a fall, occurring last June, which had resulted in traumatic brain injury.
Much effort & hard work in rehabilitation had Larry working towards the goal of returning to basic physical abilities. He had the added incentive to rejoin the remarkable group of men who comprise the Thursday evening St Paul’s Men’s Golf League.
These men joined forces with Therapy professionals & family members over many weeks to put Larry through rehab exercises. Constant encouragement was partnered with prayers and visits from caring individuals and vigilant medical tracking.
With a goal of being back on the golf course and walking along green fairways and returning to the daily routines of life, ,Larry maintained a positive outlook.
Larry’s Creator had a different goal in mind….a walk following along a different course…where his above par score would be richly rewarded. This twist and turn brought him into a physical place which would be the final stop in Larry’s Earthly journey.
Peaceful final moments were the result as Larry received extraordinary care from the St Ann’s Palative Care Unit’s staff. This provided immeasurable support for Larry. And comfort for his loved ones also.
Prayers of love ,caring, hope & trust by many provided the peace Larry was wrapped in as the final moments brought him into his Eternity.
