Obituary for David Moore McCreary

David Moore McCreary, age 97, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was born on August 9, 1925 in New Castle, PA to the late Frank and Eleanor McCreary. 

 

David graduated from Shenango High School and after graduation served in WWII and the Korean War. He was married to the former Teresa VanDaniker, whom he met while stationed in Washington DC during the Korean War.  They were married for 70 years and have  four children.

 

David graduated from Youngstown State with a Law degree. He began his career at Nationwide  insurance and worked there for over 35 years retiring as head of National Accounts.  One of the highlights of his career was when he was president of The Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys in 1984.

 

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; children  Mark (Melba); Blair (Patty); Gail (Stephen) Marcopulos; and Todd (Pam) along with many family and friends. 

 

In addition to spending time with his family, David enjoyed participating in many sports activities including handball, golf,and snow skiing.  

 

A Memorial service will be held at Central College Presbyterian Church on Friday, January 27 at 11:30 with viewing starting at 10:30.
