I don't know if you would remember me, but I knew John and your dad, Bruce in the Order of the Arrow Katinonkwat Lodge back in the mid 60s to early 70s. You were just coming up as I was heading off to college. I have great memories of John--he was a very active member and he was my mentor as I learned ritual parts for the ceremonies. John also mentored my dad when he joined the Masons in the early 70s and helped dad memorize the required materials. John was the chief at my Vigil in 1970. I was very sorry to learn of John's passing. May God's peace be with you and your family in this time of sorrow. Jim Hale

John Bruce Mower, II. Age 68, of Columbus, passed away January 28, 2018. Born in Charleston, W. Va. to John and Mary Mower. John earned his first degree in Spanish and Journalism from The Ohio State University and later became a registered nurse. Survived by his brother Guy (Marilyn) Mower and sister Karen (Jim) Smelker; niece and nephews Michael Smelker, Justin (Maria) Smelker, and Elizabeth (Scott) Ruhwedel. Preceded in death by his mother and father John and Mary Mower, and brother Clark Mower. Memorial service will be held at a later time. Please send condolences to Karen or Guy.
