Obituary for Tony Skipper

Anthony Charles (Tony) Skipper, 77, died on March 20, 2024, in Westerville, OH, after a two-year battle with cancer.

Tony was born on August 22, 1946, in Norwich, England, to the late Cyril (Joe) and Kate Skipper. He attended The University of Birmingham (UK) and graduated with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 1967. He dedicated his 40-year career to working for The Timken Company, both in Britain and in Canton, OH.

In 1969, Tony traveled to Timken headquarters in Canton and met the love of his life, Marge Antonio. They were engaged after a mere six weeks, and married in England on March 21, 1970. In 1974, they immigrated to the United States, where Tony proudly became an American citizen in 1980.

Tony was beloved for his sense of humor, his love of learning and teaching, his generosity, and his devotion to his family.

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Colin Skipper.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 54 years, Margaret (Antonio) Skipper; his daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Toth and Elizabeth Skipper (Kenneth Rega); his two grandchildren, Paxson and Presley Toth; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
