Arrangements

Visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, OH on Wednesday March 20th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:00 am. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery will follow the funeral mass.

Mary Ellen Trotter, age 96, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at Inniswood Village, Westerville, where she had resided for the past six years.  Mary Ellen was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.  Her interests included traveling, golfing, shopping for bargains, church, playing cards and games: watching sports-especially PGA golf, Cincinnati Reds, and Bengals.

Mary Ellen was one of five siblings born to Rosa and Joseph Redelman in Greensburg, IN on May 28, 1927.  She graduated from Greensburg High School in 1946, married N. Richard Trotter on October 31,1948 and they moved to Cincinnati, OH.  A job changes by Richard brought them to the Columbus area in 1966.   She retired from Lazarus Northland after 25 years of service in 1991.  She lost her beloved husband in 1994 but was a strong, independent women, bravely carried on, but never stopped missing him.      

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her husband Richard; her parents; brothers: Herb (Wilma) Redelman, and Don (Charolotte) Redelman; sisters: Dolores (Jim) Schumacher, and Florence (Russell) Hillenbrand; one grandson: Jason Cox; two sons-in-laws: Paul Champion and Ken Towers.  

She is survived by her children: Donald L. (Denise) Trotter, Diane Champion, Donna Trotter, and Mary Lynn Towers; nine grandchildren: Melissa, Shannon, Heather, Lisa, Sabrina, Samantha, Jamie, Danielle, and Shane: and 17 great grandchildren.
