Obituary for William Hardy

William (Bill) Hardy, age 77 of Westerville Oh passed away after a brief illness on Friday, February 23, surrounded by his family. He was born in Lynchburg VA. He was proceeded in death by his father, Joseph Hardy Jr., his mother, Frances Hardy, his brother, Joseph Hardy III, and his stepson, Christopher Powell. Bill graduated from Brookville High School in Lynchburg Va in 1964. He graduated from Lynchburg College in 1968.  He served in the Army National Guard from 1968 to 1974.

After several years with The Life of Virginia Insurance Company, here in the Columbus area, he opened his own agency, Legacy Financial Solutions, in Westerville along with his dear friend, Dickson Call.  Even at the age of 77, he went to the office every day.  His clients were very dear to him.

  He is survived by his wife, Mary Hardy, his stepdaughters, Kim (Chris) Kusserow, Jennifer Downing, his stepson, Chris (Allison) Drake, his grandchildren, Austin Kusserow, Anna, and Noah Drake.  He also is survived by his Virginia family, sister-in-law Carol Ann Beisser and her husband, Franz, nephews, Joey and Sean Hardy, and cousins, Sam, Marcie, and Allen Carter.  He was a caring, loving, and fun person, who will be sadly missed by so many.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
