Thomas Nelson Hayman, 88, died Monday, February 12, 2024, at 3:47 PM at Riverside Methodist Hospital.  Tom became suddenly ill doing what he loved best, singing with his friends.  He resided at Inniswood Village in Westerville, Ohio with his wife.

Born December 11, 1935, in Marion, Ohio to Forest and Helen Hayman.

He was a graduate of Marion Harding High School class of 1953, Marion Ohio.

A Korean War veteran serving our country from December 1953 and honorably discharged in March 1956.  He served in the 3rd Armored Division taking basic training in Ft Knox, KY and trained as a high-speed radio operator at Camp Gordon, GA.  He was stationed in Japan as a high-speed radio operator and then became a member of the 289th Army Band where he played Trombone.  He ended his military career as a Specialist 4th class.  In April 2019 he was honored to travel to Washington DC and participated in the Honor Flight program.  A member of the American Legion Post 171 Westerville, Ohio.

He met his high school sweetheart in 1952 and they married January 6, 1957.  He is survived by his wife of 67-years Dianne (Gillis) Hayman of Westerville, Ohio.

Tom had a long career as a National Sales Representative with several industrial rubber companies in Akron, Columbus, and Bellefontaine, Ohio plus a career in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Member at Central College Presbyterian Church where he enjoyed signing in the church choir.  His love of his wife, his family, music, and golf brought him great joy during his life.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons.  Jeff (wife Sera) Hayman of Turlock, California, and Steve (wife Molly) Hayman of Round Rock, Texas, and proceeded in death by son Mark Hayman; three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great grandchildren; nephew Rick (wife Charlene) Hayman; Lisa (Melvin) Hayman.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 23rd at the Central College Presbyterian Church, 9755 South Sunbury Road, Westerville, Ohio.  Friends may call beginning at 11 AM with a service planned at Noon.  Donations can be sent to Central College Presbyterian Church in Tom’s honor.
