A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, Tuesday January 16, 2024, at the Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 9571 North High Street, Lewis Center Ohio.  A luncheon will follow at 1:00 at the Village of Windemere party house 255 Windemere Place, Westerville Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Hospital or The Salvation Army.

Charles M Garwood (Smokey) age 86 passed away at home peacefully on January 8, 2024.

Graduate of Columbus Central High School class of 1956. United States Navy Reservist and retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio (NiSource) after 38 years of service. Preceded in death by mother Celeste LeFevre and Father Denton R. Garwood, son Dana S. Garwood, brother Denton (Barbara) Garwood, stepson George M. Killilea Jr. and step grandson Patrick S. Killilea, brother in law, Roger Gibson. Smokey is survived by his wife of 47 years Sharon E. (Gibson) Garwood, grandson Matthew Garwood, stepchildren Christine (Michael) Monahan, Margaret Killilea, William Killilea, Suzana Killilea and Kevin Killilea, sister in law, Molly Gibson, 8 grandchildren, and known as "Boo-Pa" to his 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

  The family would like to especially thank Dr. Bradley Lisko, OhioHealth Hospice and the Aides, and the loving community at Windemere Village for all their care and support during this time.
