Obituary for Perry F. Fisher

Perry F. Fisher 1937-2023

Perry F. Fisher

03/21/1937 - 12/31/2023

Perry Franklin Fisher, 86 of Westerville, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 31, 2023.

Preceded in death by sons Mark and Richard.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years Nancy Tipton Fisher; brother Wayne Fisher (Dolores), daughter Beth Domanik (Chris), grandchildren Sophia, Nina and Joe Domanik, Joshua Fisher and Abby Fisher, and many nephews and cousins.

Perry was a graduate of South High School, class of 1954.  In the late 1950’s he started a career as a pattern maker.  He joined the family business, The American Pattern & Manufacturing Company along with his father, brother, and many other relatives.  He later moved into a long career in retirement plans and employee benefits. In the early 1990s, he founded the Perry Fisher Company that he ran with his son Mark, retiring as President in 2008.

Perry was a member of the Columbus Kiwanis Club where he enjoyed many years of community service, most notably ringing the bell for the Salvation Army. He was a faithful parishioner and volunteer in his church community at both First English Lutheran Church and Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church.  Perry was active supporter of the Bexley High School Athletic Boosters.

Perry was a lifelong sailing enthusiast and a member the Hoover Yacht Club in Westerville.  He enjoyed sailing his Interlake and Thistle, but most memorable was his favorite single-sail sailboat, ‘The Pooh Bear’, that he rebuilt and named after his daughter.  Perry had a passion for life, good food and family.  He loved a good party and never met a stranger. For two generations he was a constant presence cheering on his kids and grandkids on their various sports fields.

May the seas lie smooth before you. May a gentle breeze forever fill your sails. May sunshine warm your face, And kindness warm your soul.

Love you, Papa.
