Arrangements

Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 41 W. College Avenue, Westerville, Ohio 43081 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, and services will be at the church on Saturday, July 29, at 2:00 p.m.

The Santee family sends our heartfelt condolences to all of your family. Bill has been a dear friend for many years. We have felt deep respect for him and have experienced his kindness and devotion to the church. We will miss him greatly.

William Joe McCormick (Bill), 87, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2023. He was born in Kettlersville, Ohio, on January 2, 1936.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Susan McCormick, his parents Roy and LaRue, and his brother Roger.

He is survived by his brother Bob, children Chris (Annabelle) McCormick, Karen (Andrew) Eyers, Bradley (Marion Katz) McCormick, Katie (Keith) Hayes; grandchildren Richard Eyers, Robert Eyers, Kimberly Heizer, Kelly Eyers, Rachel McCormick, Emily McCormick, William Hayes, and Morgan Hayes; and six great-grandchildren.

He attended Ohio State University and enjoyed a diverse career in Electrical Engineering, training, and technical writing. Bill was devoted to his family and friends and spent much of his life in the service of others.

A dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of Westerville for over 50 years, Bill leaves many lifelong friends there. He was tireless in his service to the church and as a long-term volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, which recognized him with several honors. He helped build homes in Central Ohio, South Africa, and the Philippines. He also volunteered doing maintenance at the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus.

Bill enjoyed woodworking and fishing and had a lifelong love of ice cream. But more than anything, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Gifts in his honor may go to the Carter Center or Church World Service.
