Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 10:00 at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 280 N Grant Ave, Columbus Ohio. A funeral luncheon will follow at the church. Burial will be later in the day at 2:00 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Delaware, OH.
Writing a condolence just doesn’t seem appropriate. Instead, I’d like to memorialize Greg.
He was funny, sweet, persistent ,and a curious person. He taught me how to play guitar using a Beetles song book. We watched hundreds of karate and history of war movies. We talked about Philosophy, his teen and young adult years where he was wild and got into shenanigans as well as some of his proudest moments. He retold these moments a lot. He stripped a tree next to the house in Wisconsin and made it into a climbing tree. It was my spaceship. We threw balls onto the roof and would catch them when they come down. He instilled an interest of medicine in me. Due to his injuries, we were always looking for a solution. A cure. Did I mention he was persistent? He really liked genealogy and helped work on adding information into the Gerwig/Simpson tree.
People live on through their imprint on you. That is their legacy. Not things they have, or own, but how they made you feel and what part of themselves they shared with you. Remember this.
