Beverly Zollars
12/04/1946 - 10/22/2023
ZOLLARS, Beverly Ann “BEV” (Bleakmore), age 76, of Westerville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on October 22, 2023. She was a proud graduate of Flushing High School in 1965 and from American Airlines Stewardess Academy in 1967. She retired from Blendon Middle School as a teacher’s aide after 19 years of service and was the proud recipient of the Superintendent’s A+ Award. She was born at Ohio Valley Hospital on December 4, 1946, to Harry Franklin Bleakmore and Avis Adkinson Bleakmore. Bev was a proud member of the Central College Presbyterian Church in Westerville, Ohio.
To know Bev is to know that she lived every day to the fullest. She had the ability to light up a room and bring a smile to everyone’s face. Just by seeing her smile your whole day would be better. Bev loved to travel, and her family often told her she was born with gypsy blood. She loved to spend the evenings sitting on the porch with her beloved husband (Gene) of 55 years, going to the airport to “assist” with landing planes, walking, bird watching, watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, and taking care of her beloved dog (Lacey). More than anything, Bev loved her husband and children. She has filled their lives with amazing memories that will get them through this difficult time.
Above all else, Bev was unapologetically herself. Her family and friends will always remember her contagious laugh, her love for football, and her cheering as she walked down Fairdale Ave to see her wonderful neighbors and friends.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Avis Bleakmore. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 55 years, M. Eugene Zollars, son Christopher Eugene (Kristen) Zollars, son Kevin Franklin Zollars, and daughter Courtney Ann Zollars, 2 grandchildren (Emma and Declan), brother Charles (Vicki) Bleakmore, sister Shelley (Greg) Donda, many loving nieces, nephews, and adoring friends.
