Condolences

Condolence From: Edward (Eddie) Smith, Chesapeake, VA
Condolence: I moved to Westerville in the middle of the fourth grade. Robert lived about three or four houses up the street on East Broadway and we became friends very quickly. We spent many hours shooting marbles, working on cub scout projects, going camping and spending a lot of time at the pool in the summer months. At that time Robert wore a leg brace because of a childhood illness but that didn’t stop him from suiting up for the Little League “Wildcats” helping the team as our batboy.
Robert and I attended Whittier, Emerson, Hanby and Westerville High School together. The memories we shared are priceless. I am thankful for the values I learned while in the Long household. Fenton and Dorothy Long never hesitated to drive us anywhere we wanted to go or feed us after a ball game in the lot next to their house. John Wildman, Bill Noble, Larry Dixon, Steve Pearson, Rob Coad, Jim Williams, Steve Scott, Bill Chrisitiansen, Doug Fuller, Eddie Smith and Robert Long; your East Broadway guys and I probably left someone out.
A few years back, Wendy Roush hosted a Class of 1967 reunion at her house and I met Robert Long for the first time in over 50 years since high school graduation. It was the highlight of the reunion for me.
May God bless Robert’s family richly!

Condolence From: Steve Pearson, Westerville, Ohio
Condolence: Rest in Gods Peace Bob. You were a good friend and classmate. We grew up together as friends in Westerville through elementary, Junior High and High school. Your mom I remember well as our Cub Scout Den Mother, your dads awesome Studebaker and the time we spent on vacation at Lake Erie. You will be truly missed by all that knew and loved you. See you on the other side my friend.
