Obituary for Karen Foster

Karen Wallace Foster of Westerville, Ohio passed away peacefully by the side of family at the age of 75 at her home on Friday, May 26th, 2023.

Karen was born on March 23rd, 1948, to Frederick and Margaret Wallace in Baltimore, MD. In 1961 the Wallace family moved to Columbus, Ohio. Karen graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1966.

On October 25th, 1968, Karen and Thomas Foster married and went on to have 2 children, Shane, and Brandy. Karen retired from Westerville South High School and worked in the cafeteria, referring to herself as the “Deli Queen”. Following retirement, Karen enjoyed walks and playing cards with her crazy card club girls. During the Summer, Karen also enjoyed spending time in Michigan, walking the shores of Lake Huron.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Margaret, son Shane, and daughter Brandy. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, of 55 years. She was known as their beloved Bobba to her five grandchildren: Brandon (Abby) Foster; and Colin Wogan; and Kiersten, Chase, and Alexis Townsend. She is also survived by her sisters, Beverly (Stephan) Kantor; and Debra (Michael) Minkos; and Aunt Ann Houston. As well as multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Karen will be arranged by the family later this Summer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your Cancer Organization of choice in Karen’s memory.

The family would also like to thank Mount Carmel Hospice for all their care and compassion in supporting Karen during this period of life.
