Obituary for Christine Exley

Christine Exley -2023

Christine Exley

- 05/06/2023

Christine Beth Exley, age 57, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023 following a short hospitalization. Chris was born in Rochester, NY and was a long time resident of central Ohio, but still considered Rochester “home”. She was preceded in death by her husband Scott Cooper and many of her beloved pets.
Chris is survived by her loving parents, Norm and Frankie Exley, her sisters Cheryl (Mike) Nelson and Cathi (Doug) Staysniak, and nephews Joey (Autumn) Nelson, Mark (Cait) Nelson, Sam Nelson and Ben Staysniak, along with several special friends and extended family members.
Chris was a true animal lover and will be remembered as a kindhearted free spirit who would never pass up the chance to pet a dog or feed a squirrel.

Chris was a successful kidney and pancreas transplant recipient. Thanks to her organ donor, in the last six years of her life, Chris was able to live more independently and even took a bucket-list trip to Alaska last fall. She proudly chose to be a tissue donor upon her death.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 13 at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Master United Methodist, 24 N. Grove St., Westerville, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Lifeline of Ohio (https://lifelineofohio.org/get-involved/contribute/ ) the Puerto Rico Dog Fund  https://www.thepuertoricodogfund.org/donations ) or the charity of your choice.
