Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8th 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hill Funeral Home (220 S State St, Westerville, OH 43081). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 9th 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Church (5750 N High St, Worthington, OH 43085). A burial will be held following the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery (9571 High St, Lewis Center, OH 43035).

Beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Jennifer Ann Blackmer (Barr), passed away peacefully in her home in Columbus, OH, surrounded by her family, on the morning of March 1, 2023 after a year-long battle with cancer.

Jennifer was born on October 22, 1945 to John and Margaret Barr in Grand Rapids, MI. She graduated from Mount Mercy Academy in 1964. Jennifer was married to Bentley Blackmer for 45 years, from 1967 until his death in 2012. They were blessed with three children, Michael, Joanne, and Kelly.

Jennifer will be deeply missed for the loving care she poured out on her family and close friends. She was known for her generous and selfless nature. For 25 years she worked as a volunteer manager at Catholica Book Store in Westerville, OH. As an avid reader, Jennifer enjoyed Catholic magazines, website articles, and books. She loved engaging in meaningful discussions about the Church, politics, and world events. She injected laughter into almost every conversation due to her directness and wit.

Jennifer is preceded in death by her husband Bentley Blackmer, her parents John and Margaret Barr, and her brother John Barr. She is survived by her children, Michael (Marie) Blackmer, Joanne Blackmer, Kelly (Jason) Hollback; grandchildren, Clair, Joseph, Isabel, and George; sisters, Margaret (Michael) Didion and Mary Barr; many nieces and nephews.
