John Kevin Landis of Westerville passed away on Sunday February 26, 2023, at the age of 65.

John was born in Columbus Ohio. He graduated in the last class of Westerville High School in 1975. He was employed by the Westerville Schools for 32 years. Finishing his career as head Custodian of Westerville North. After retirement he worked for the United States Postal Service and worked in several offices including Hilliard, Sunbury, Westerville, and Dublin.

His love of cars was always his favorite pastime. He owned many vehicles over the years. He recently purchased a limo as a lifetime dream car. He took great pride in attending local car shows with his family. He was a proud Westerville North Band Dad and built several lifelong friends with other band parents. Neighbors knew him as the guy with all the tools and advice to help fix things.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Norma (Lou) Landis and John (Jack) Landis. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patty McCoy Landis. His children Lori Landis Sherman (Andrew) and Jonathan Landis (Gabby). Grandchildren Andrea (Ricky), Andrew (Taylor), Corrynn (Grace), Hagen, Jade, Carder John, Kaylaa, Jenna, Katie, Lauren, Zac, Zeke, Ruby, and Zephyr. Siblings Richard Landis (Ann), Kay Landis, Terri Thornburg (Dale), Pam Johnson (Gary), Diane Hanselman (Rick). Brother-in-law Oscar McCoy (Barb Along with many nieces and nephews.

John is described as a great man by everyone who knew him. He also was a great son, brother, father, and grandfather. He was a long time Westerville resident. He was proud of his community and those in it. He was honored by all the relationships he built over the years.

Family will receive visitors at Hill Funeral Home 220 S. State St, Westerville, OH 43081, Wednesday March 1st 4PM – 7PM. Funeral to be held at 10AM Thursday March 2nd at Hill Funeral Home. John will be placed in the mausoleum at Blendon Central Cemetery, 6350 Hempstead Road.
