Ellis E. Kauffman Jr. of Westerville, passed away on Wednesday February 22nd, 2023 at the age of 95. Ellis was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1928. He graduated from Purdue University with his degree in electrical engineering. In 1952 he married and put down roots in Westerville, Ohio, later welcoming three children. After serving his country in the United States Army, he made a career with North American Aviation and Rockwell International. Ellis loved classic cars, into which he poured countless hours and in turn got immeasurable joy from. He was an aficionado of American classic automobiles, taking pride in his membership in the Scioto Model A Club and the valued friendships forged.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Ellis E. Kauffman Sr. and Mary B. Snyder Kauffman, his brother, Robert G. Kauffman and his wife Ellen Marie Kauffman. He is survived by his sons David Kauffman and Glenn (Jenni) Kauffman. Daughter Sue Peters (Roger) Thomas. Grandchildren Rachel (Marlin) Springer, Ashley Stroh, Jackie (Glenn) Miller, Maegan (Ryan) Rygiel, Alyssa (AJ) Thomas. Seven great-grandchildren and dear friends Dan and Kathy Bickley.

It is difficult to sum up a life in a few words. The meaning of it, the depth of it, the milestones and accomplishments. All of those ordinary days, extraordinary days, that string together lighting a road that you can look back in the rearview and say it was a life well lived. Ellis, all the miles are behind you now. We will hold on to all the memories while you and Ellen explore new roads, convertible top down.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Ellis and in honor of his great grandson Bo, currently fighting his battle with leukemia through the support of St. Jude
