Obituary for Anna Laura Kopp

Anna Laura Kopp 1932-2023

Anna Laura Kopp

12/03/1932 - 02/10/2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife and mother, Anna Laura Kopp, at the Inn at Walnut Trail, Sunbury, Ohio. Anna was born on December 3, 1932, to the late John David “Cecil” and Anise Rathburn. She went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2023. She loved the Lord and was a Christian who accepted Christ on March 24th. 1991. The Bible verse that she held to her was Luke 23:42,43; And he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when you come into Your Kingdom. And Jesus said to him “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Anna graduated from Columbus Central High School, Class of 1951. After graduating, she went to work for an Insurance Company and then on to North American Aviation where she met the man she would marry, Robert E. Kopp. They married on October 17, 1955, and just celebrated 67 years together.

She loved to sing, dance, listen to music, play her piano, read the Columbus Dispatch as well as the National Enquirer. Tasters Choice Coffee started her day and reading the papers ended it. She was happy with the simplest things in life and loved her many neighbors and friends.

Her kindness never ceased to amaze us. There are dozens upon dozens of Thank You Cards from people none of us know.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert E. Kopp, Daughters; Kim Milliken (Jim), Shelly Wood (Mike), Sons; Mike Kopp (Nancy), Rob Kopp (Brenda) Son-in-Law; Steve Spangler Sr. (Mary). She also has 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and another great grandchild on the way as well as 1 great-great grandchild, 2 nieces and their spouses, a brother-in-law Jimmy Kopp (Neva) and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Melissa Lynn Martin in 2014 and her brother Dave Rathburn.

Our family wants to thank the entire staff at the Inn at Walnut Trail, Sunbury. They have given us peace of mind and treat our parents with love, respect, and dignity. Their kindness will not be forgotten.

Hill Funeral Home, 220 S. State St., Westerville, Ohio, has been entrusted with her services. Her visitation hours are Saturday, February 18th 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at the Fancher Rd. Cemetery, Westerville Ohio. Pastors Mike Kopp and Rob Kopp will oversee the services.
