Richard Albert Marflak passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. Preceded in death by parents, Richard Steven Marflak and Bonnie Lou (Ankrom) Marflak; Grand-Mother, Mamie Marflak; Uncle, Roderick (Gene) Marflak; Aunts, Charlene (Glen) Morris and Martha Rhodes. Survived by Sister, Joyce (Steve) Hunter of Grove City; Nephew, Dr. Shawn (Tisha) Hunter of Springboro; Niece, Heather (Nathan) Arnold of Grove City; Great-Nieces, Eryn and Riley Hunter of Cincinnati; Great-Nephew, Wyatt Arnold of Grove City; Cousins, Ken (Carol) Morgan of Powell, Janet Hatcher and daughter Melissa Lamana of Phoenix and Russell (Sierra) Link of Galena and other cousins and relatives.

Upon graduation from Westerville High School, Richard worked a variety of occupations as shoe salesman, potato chip manufacturing and finally in the hotel industry as Housekeeping Manager at Embassy Suites Hotel in Columbus. Richard suffered a stroke at age 47 which resulted in his retirement from the workforce. He subsequently underwent kidney transplant surgery at The Wexner Medical Center, in Columbus. Richard resided at Brookdale Senior Living in Grove City until his death. Richard enjoyed crafts shopping and partying with his friends who worked at the hotel. He was a huge fan of the OSU Buckeyes. He was an avid bingo player at Brookdale winning many of the games.

The family wishes to thank all doctors, nurses and support staff at The Wexner Medical Center for their excellent care. The family also wishes to recognize and thank all of the staff and Hospice staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Grove City for the wonderful care given to Richard these past years. You were his adopted family and he loved every one of you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center Transplant Center.
