Obituary for Stephanie Sue Long

Stephanie Sue Long, 45, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly January 19, 2015. Born August 13, 1969, to John and Sue Long in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the youngest of four children. A 1987 graduate of Westerville North High School, she earned a BA from Otterbein University and did postgraduate work at Ohio Dominican. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Don and Agnes Wilcoxon and John and Vivian Long. She is survived by her children, Jeremy Messmore and Brynna Coukart; her parents; brothers Jeff (Katy Delaney), Greg and sister Hilary (Jeff ) Beard; nephews John, Tyler, Ryan and Daniel; niece Erin; uncle Don (Linda) Wilcoxon; aunt Kathi (Tim) Morgan; cousin Megan; boyfriend William Spernoga. She taught special education students at Westerville South High School, where helping special kids was her passion. She was bright and beautiful and had a kind and loving heart. She will be terribly missed. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday, January 23 at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St., Westerville, Ohio. Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Paul’s church at State Street and County Line Road in Westerville. In Stephanie’s memory, donations may be sent to Buckeye Boys Ranch or the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
