Private family funeral service at 11 AM Wednesday with Rev. Jacob D. Heino officiating with burial at Blendon Central Cemetery. Service will be live streamed on the Hill Funeral Home Youtube Channel.

Carolyn Cartwright, age 79, of Westerville, died early Thursday morning, September 3, 2020 at Sage Park Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. A seasoned Girl Scout leader, Jaycee Wives Club chair, and active TWIG member, she worked as a sales representative for JC Penney Insurance. She was a 1960 graduate of Harbor Creek High School in Erie Pennsylvania. Lovingly known as “Grandma”, she was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. A longtime resident of Westerville, Carolyn was a member of Central College Presbyterian Church and served for many years as a Sunday School teacher.

Carolyn shared a zest for life with countless groups and organizations. Her calendar was always full with the Westerville Promenaders, Garden Clubs, Euchre & Canasta Clubs, and the Hatless Red Hatters. She was known for her hospitality and generosity. She loved cooking and baking and sending Bob out to deliver her gifts. Above all else, Carolyn rejoiced in being a grandmother. Anyone who knew Carolyn knew all about her three beautiful grandchildren, and how they were a continued source of great pride and tremendous joy.

Carolyn was born December 18, 1941 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late William and Margaret Maunder Blair. She is preceded in death by a son-in-law, James E. Novak. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert C. Cartwright, whom she married November 10, 1962 at Hope Lutheran Church in Harborcreek, Pennsylvania; her daughter, Holly A. Novak of Plain City; her granddaughter Elizabeth A. Novak of Cincinnati; grandson, Matthew J. Novak of Plain City; her daughter, Misty (Larry “Ed”) Hibbitts of Hebron Kentucky; granddaughter Emma L. Hibbitts of Hebron Kentucky;  sisiters, Marlene (Tom) Mancik and Marilyn (John) Hipps; brother Bill (Kim) Blair; and many other relatives and good friends. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s memory to The Mary Grace Foundation c/o Interim Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
