Jeanne Helen (Yoder) Ackert, 91 of Westerville, OH peacefully passed away of natural causes Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
She was born April 16, 1929, daughter of Albert A. Yoder and Ruth E. (Mizen) Yoder. Raised in Tiffin, OH along with her sisters (“Betty” and “Margie”) and brothers (“Larry” and “Tom”). She graduated from Bowling Green State University and went on to become a registered nurse at Grant Hospital. Once married she chose to be a selfless, caring, and loving stay at home mom. When she wasn’t busy taking care of the boys, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and visiting with family. She was also a member of The Church of The Master, U.M., Westerville, OH.
Preceded in death by her husband Dr. Paul H. Ackert (2001), who was most recently Professor of Religion and Philosophy at Otterbein College. Survived by sons Daniel Paul (Kelly) and Matthew Joel (Sharon). She was always interested in the activities of her six grandchildren Michael, Joshua, Joseph, William, Henry, and Benjamin as well as her two great grandchildren Anthony and Austin.
A private memorial service and interment for both Jeanne and Paul will be held at Otterbein Cemeteryat 11 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2020 officiated by Reverend Jay Anderson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be thoughtfully given to The Church of the Master, United Methodist located at 24 N. Grove St., Westerville, OH 43081.
