Obituary for Geraldine Yates

Geraldine D. Yates, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at Acorn Hill Senior Living, Mosinee.

She was born in Columbus, OH on Feb. 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Meeks) Edwards. She married Walter Yates on Jan. 8, 1949. He preceded her in death in January 2010.

Geraldine was better known as Jeri, moved from Columbus Ohio to Mosinee in 2006. In her younger years she was active in scouting and PTO while her children were growing up in Ohio. Jeri was a resident of Acorn Hill since 2012 where she was loved by all, her silly since of humor made the staff want to stop by for a visit often. She liked to play bingo which she would tell you she was quite good at. She loved it when spaghetti was on the menu, or fried chicken. Those who knew her would describe her as sweet, loving, sassy and funny she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include three children: Lana (Daniel) Harper, Mosinee, WI, Marc Yates, Glena, OH, and Laura (Henry) Knight, Palatka, FL; 12 Grandchildren; and 16 Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a brother, Richard, and a sister, Linda.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at Frank E. Hill Funeral Home, Westerville, OH. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
