Obituary for Robert E. Gerbec

Robert Earl Gerbec (Bob), passed away on July 1st, 2019, at the age of 78.

Bob hails from Beaverdale Pa, the son Rudy and Margaret Gerbec.

After High school, Bob served in the U.S.Navy, during the late 50’s thru the early 60’s, the majority of the time was spent on the aircraft carrier, USS Independence. After his time in the Navy, Bob moved to Westerville Ohio and attended Otterbein College, Where he meet his wife Elizabeth Ann Gerbec (Betsy). Bob and Betsy were married on October 10th, 1964.

During his work career, he spent most of his time at Continental can Co. and Kal Kan, as an electrical maintenance engineer, where he eventually retired from. Bob like to spend his time gardening, cooking, enjoying nature and being of service to anyone he could.

Bob leaves behind a wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Ann Gerbec (Woods), originally of McKeesport’s Pa.

He is further survived by Robert Marc Gerbec (Green Bay, WI.) and his wife, Sue. Grandchildren, Corporal Robert Dominic Gerbec (USMC) and Sophia Joan Gerbec (USMC recruit). Ian Scot Gerbec (Westerville, OH.) and his wife Ann. Sister-in-law, Susan Gerbec, many other nieces, nephews and unofficial adopted daughters, Valerie Pulliam and Leslie Butler.

Bob is preceded by his parents, Richard Allen Gerbec (brother), Shirley Weaver (sister)

There will a visitation from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Tuesday July 16th, 2019. There will be a service after. Visitation and memorial service, will be held at Hills Funeral Home, 220 S. State St. in Westerville.
