Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 3-6 PM at Hill Funeral Home in Westerville. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Hill Funeral Home, and a celebration of her life will follow. Her family will later scatter her ashes in Ocean City, NJ.

Carol was a dear friend from high school and will remain so forever in my heart. Deepest condolences to Carol's sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren and of course to Mrs. Blizzard and Sue and Nancy. I regret not being able to attend the service tomorrow.

Carol McCaughey, beloved “Cabby,” passed away December 23, 2018, after a courageous fight against Cholangiocarcinoma. Carol was the incredible mother to her sons Kevin (Ann) McCaughey, and Brian (Bonnie) McCaughey. She is also survived by her mother, Ruth Blizzard, and two sisters, Susan (James) Smith and Nancy (Peter) Hopkins. She has four beautiful grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Abby and Benny, and Hannah and Leah. She also has an adored niece Audrey. She is preceded in death by her father, Louis Blizzard. Carol will be remembered for her love of life, family and friends. Her energy was contagious, and her spirit was free. She loved an adventure and was a world traveler. She loved to host and entertain, and took great care of her family and friends. Most of all, she was a devoted, caring and loving mother. Her sons were her world.

Raised in Wilmington, Delaware, Carol grew up with a love for the water and the beach. Carol has resided in Westerville, Ohio for the last 37 years. She started her career at The Limited in 1981, and recently retired from Justice. She was valued as a teacher and mentor to those who followed her.
