Arrangements

A funeral service in her memory will be held on June 21st at 10:30am at the Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio. A blessing will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery in Westerville, Ohio.

Dear Lavonne,

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your mother. Alzheimer's also took my mother after 10 years of gradual decline, and it is a slow, painful process that can distance loved ones from real connection to their family member. You are in my thoughts, especially after having such a pleasant reacquaintance at our recent Emmanuel Reunion. The life memories you shared at that special meeting certainly represent achievements which must have made your mother very proud. Wishing you continued success, and healing at this time of sorrow.

Fondly,
Dianne (Bouley) Wood EC Class of '68

Dianne Wood

Obituary for Elizabeth White

Elizabeth White 1926-2018

Elizabeth White

03/21/1926 - 06/11/2018

Elizabeth “Betty” White, 92, of Westerville, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018. Betty was a long-time resident of Holliston, Massachusetts and had only recently moved to Ohio to be near family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind her husband of 73 years Leland (Lee) White, daughter, Lavonne (White) Suwalski and son-in-law David Suwalski of Westerville, OH, granddaughters, Jennifer (Suwalski) Golden and husband Jeffrey Golden of New Albany, OH, and Kathleen (Suwalski) Sullivan and husband Alex Sullivan of Framingham, MA, and great grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren and Hazel.

Betty was born in Boston, Massachusetts on March 21, 1926. As a child, Betty loved school and talked about how she skipped a grade and was the fastest typist at Reading High School where she graduated in 1943. She had an almost perfect attendance record except for the day she cut class to see Gone with the Wind.

Betty met her husband, Lee, on a blind date when his ship, the Canberra, was in the Port of Boston during WWII. They married in June of 1945. She and Lee were very involved in bowling leagues, golfing, square dancing with Fairs and Squares, and playing bridge with their many friends at the Holliston and Medway Senior Centers. They were also devoted members of St Mary’s Church in Holliston, Massachusetts.

Nothing brought Betty greater joy than spending time with her family. She could always be found on the sideline or in the stands of all of Andrew and Lauren’s sporting events. And the recent birth of her third great grandchild, Hazel, brought a smile to her face. Betty laughed a lot and always wore her emotions on her sleeve. She lived 92 years always enjoying the simple things in life.

Her family wishes a very sincere thank you to the staff at the Glen at Parkside Village and the staff at Capital City Hospice for the wonderful care they gave her. A funeral service in her memory will be held on June 21st at 10:30am at the Church of the Resurrection in New Albany, Ohio. A blessing will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery in Westerville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Dr., #170, Columbus, OH 43231 or The Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Rd, Columbus, OH 43215.
