Obituary for Floyd Swickard

Floyd Eugene (Gene) Swickard died suddenly on June 5, 2018.

Gene was born on December 24, 1946 in Columbus, OH to his parents Floyd and Ileane Swickard (Dickendesher). He graduated from New Albany High School in 1965, later enlisting in the Marine Corp.  He did tours in Hawaii, Panama and Viet Nam. He was employed at Central Ohio Building Co. for 36 years.  In 1969 he married Becky Burcham and made Johnstown their home.  

Gene was a man of faith and was an elder at the Pataskala Church of Christ.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially grandson Gabriel.  His  family and friends will always remember him as a kind person. 

He is survived by his wife Becky; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Trisha Swickard; grandson, Gabriel; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dennis Seligman; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth an Brad Fry.  He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents and stepk-father, Robert Dickendesher.  

Viewing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., June 12 at Pataskala Church of Christ, 9132 Blacks Road, Pataskala, OH.  Service will follow at 11:30.
