Obituary for Stephen Lauer

Stephen M. Lauer, age 71 passed away while surrounded by his family on June 5, 2018. He was born 11/22/1946 in Elkhart, Indiana to Leo and Louise Lauer. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and graduated from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. His career in sales brought him to settle with his family in Westerville, Ohio where he was a member of St. Paul's Church. Steve enjoyed cooking for his family and observing the natural world and all of God’s creatures.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years Ann, daughters Suzie ( Craig ) Long, Natalie ( Scott ) Ozebek, Stephanie ( Kevin ) Weitzel , brother Charlie (Kay) Lauer, sister Pat (George) Naderman, grandchildren Donavan, Brandon, Caiden, Thomas, Evelyn and beloved cat Boo. Numerous nieces and nephews and his wife's siblings, Dorothy ( Richard ) Howland, Walter ( Debby) Berndt, Donald ( Candice ) Berndt, Debra Polk, and Betty (Greg) Reeves.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and infant sister, Susan.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 11 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Westerville at 10:30 AM. Family will receive friends at 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass. A private burial will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church, American Heart Association or charity of choice.
