Carol Kehlmeier Obituary - Hill Funeral Home

Arrangements

Friends may call 2 to 5 PM Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Services 11 AM Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4686 E. Walnut St., Westerville.

I was so sad to hear the other day of Carol's passing and said a prayer of thanks that I knew her and your dad and you boys as I grew up here in Westerville. Your mom was warm and welcoming and even as a little kid I remember she was so funny. Your family and ours would meet at Glengarry Pool on hot summer afternoons and while the kids would swim for hours our moms would gossip together about friends and family. Your mom could swim and dive so beautifully.

Most of all I remember Carol as being one of my mom's best friends and that they met through St Paul. Mom said your family and ours joined St. Paul about the same time. Mom and Carol had much in common, raising 4 kids so close in age while their husbands went off to work. Having time together at church, occasional get-togethers and the almost daily phone calls are what Mom claimed kept them sane.

These past few years haven't been easy for Mom. Because of this her friendship with Carol became increasingly more precious. When Carol visited her in "the home" (mom's words) they continued their gossip sessions, squabbles and differences but it was clear to me that they were important to each other and loved each other like sisters.

Although it is difficult for Mom to express herself these days, she sends her heartfelt condolences to you all. She misses Carol, is so grateful for the 60 years of friendship they enjoyed and looks forward to the day when they get together again in Heaven.

Diane Reeb
