Thomas "Gary" Cordle

12/07/1942 - 04/29/2018

Thomas “Gary” Cordle, 75, passed away suddenly at St. Ann’s Hospital on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Born December 7, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio. Member of Heritage Christian where he loved serving as a greeter at the children’s entrance on Sunday mornings. Gary attended Free Will Baptist Bible College for a short time after graduation from Central HS, but was forced to return home for health reasons. He and Barb were married in 1964 and started their precious family. Gary was a diligent and multi-talented employee and managed stores at Cord Camera Center and Roofing Wholesale. For years, he opened his home to many young people from the church for a place to “hang-out”. He loved traveling and was blessed to cruise or vacation with so many loving friends and family and see God’s magnificent creation across His world. Gary and his brother Larry shared a special bond in these later years and supported each other in so many circumstances. A very proud Dad and Papaw, his children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Veryl and Jack Crosby. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Van Hoose) Cordle, children, daughter, Lori (Greg) Kirkendall, son, Donald (Brenda) Cordle, grandchildren, Madison and Megan Cordle; Ian and Eli Kirkendall, brother Larry (Cindy) Crosby, brother and sister-in-law, James and Donna Dean, nieces and nephews, extended family and a multitude of wonderful friends. Special thanks to the marvelous team of nurses and doctors at St. Ann’s who cared for him on the second floor and ICU.
