Our beloved Margaret E. Strahine, nee Ivins, 86, born March 26, 1931, passed away February 15th with her family at her side after an extended illness. Originally a Cleveland resident for over 50 years, Marge and her late husband, moved to Columbus in 1986. She currently resided in Westerville. Presided in death by her husband Milan of 45 years, (mother-in-law Mary and father-n-law Max), mother (Margaret), father (John) Ivins, siblings, sister Ruth (Donald), brother Bill (Margie), John (Jean) and Allen (Carol) nieces, Karen and Linda. Survived by her children, Candy (Ken), Steven, Michael (Teri). Grandchildren Katherine (Bronnie), Brian, Jenel (Gabe), Michelle (Marcus) and Chad. Great-grandchildren Zachary, Evan, Callie and several nieces and nephews. Marge lived her life to the fullest. She loved her family proudly and her grandchildren and great- grandchilden were the love of her life. They brought a smile to her face and glow to her eyes. Family gatherings brought immense joy to Margie’s heart and her passion for cooking was shared lovingly among them. She loved music, reading cookbooks and sharing recipes. Marge had a way with animals. Her dogs, Molson, Dutchess, Maggie, Goober, Jake and Molly were her devoted companions through out her life. She also loved the beauty of horses. Marge looked forward each day to her daily devotional readings which provided her inspiration and guidance. Always one to help others, Marge volunteered at St. Ann’s Hospital and received an award for her 500 hours of volunteer service. She always had an opinion and thensome. The last matriarch of the family for her generation, she will be deeply missed. Her family wants to thank the staff at Heartland of Uptown Westerville for their excellent care, especially Anthony and Elizabeth.You made our goodbyes much easier. A private family funeral service will be held at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State Street, Westerville , Ohio. Interment Union Cemetery.
