Obituary for Gary Shields

Gary L Shields, age 80, born 10/17/1937 in Mansfield, Ohio, passed away 01/26/2018. Gary graduated from Arlington High School and attended Industrial Engineering School through Ranco. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Sierra. He is a member of Riverside Bible Church. He is proceeded in death by his parents George and Mary Shields. Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years Harriet and son Mike (Carol) and daughter Tammy Cuprys His Grandsons Brad (Grace) Shields and Jeff and Chris Cuprys and great granddaughters Haleana Grace and Gabriella Hope Shields. His brother Rod (Becky) Shields and nephews Dean, Jeff, and Brian and niece Kayla. Sister in law Anne and niece Val (Jeff), Lucy, and Lydia. Gary loved all forms of auto racing but his heart was in Drag Racing, he loved hunting and sometimes just walking in the fields and wooded areas. He also loved the beach and spent many family vacations in South Carolina at the beach. He was an avid reader of anything to do with the Civil War. Gary loved The Lord and is now with Him in Glory. He will be so missed by his family and friends. Memorial donations may be given to Riverside Bible Church.
