Alexander Peter Kosta, 96, died at home on 1/17/2018. Son of the late Mary and Josef Kosco, he was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He attended New Brunswick High School where he played basketball and was inducted in their Sports Hall of Fame. He graduated from Temple University, where he studied business and was a varsity basketball player. A WWII veteran, he flew 37 missions as a B-17 navigator in the 303rd Bomb Group. An oral recollection of his military service can be found online in the Ohio Veterans Oral History Project. He retired from International Harvester (now Navistar) in 1982 and turned to golf and painting as retirement hobbies. He is proceeded in death by his wife, Aileen (nee Carr) and twin sons, Michael and Laurence Kosta. He leaves behind three daughters: Marie Lucas, Nancy Kosta, and Jean Wright (Jeff), 3 grandchildren, Alexander and Mary Wright and Maria Bennett, and 3 great-grandchildren, Christian, Bre and Bailey Bennett. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Joan Carr and Claire McNamara, and her husband Thomas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews
. Friends may call at Hill Funeral Home, Westerville on Tuesday 1/23 from 4 to 6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Charles Klinger on Wednesday 1/24 at 10:30 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westerville. In lieu of flowers the families suggests a donation to the Westerville Area Resource Ministry (WARM) in Alex’s name.
