Obituary for Kay Frances George

Kay Frances (Aughenbaugh) George, 68 passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014. Born June 18, 1946 in Altoona, PA to Leroy and Dorothy Aughenbaugh. She graduated from Altoona High School in 1964 and from Altoona Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. As a registered nurse she cared for patients in hospitals in Altoona, PA, Detroit, MI, Cincinnati, OH, Fort Wayne IN and Columbus, OH, and served as the Faith Community Nurse at Church of the Master, U.M.C. She retired from United Healthcare as a Senior Quality Specialist. She was a musician in high school, singing in the choir and playing the viola in the orchestra and in the Mt. Aloysius Community Orchestra in Cresson, PA., and held a love of music throughout her life. She enjoyed reading and crocheting and meeting with Women’s Circle at Church of the Master. Married R. Thomas George at 8th Ave. U.M. Church in Altoona Oct. 5, 1968. Besides her husband she is also survived by daughter Amanda Kay George. A Celebration of her Life will be at The Church of the Master, U.M. at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 12, 2014.
