I can truly say I know how it feels to lose your mom. When I lost my sweet mom 10 years ago I said it was such an empty feeling because my spirit had never been on this earth without hers here with me. As you are, I am very thankful I won't be without her very long and will get to spend eternity with her. Now that's a wonderful promise! You have my deep heartfelt sorrow and love. Gale

Mary M. Emch, 89, of Parkside Village in Westerville, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was born in Marshallville, OH to George and Jenny (Meyer) Walters on September 16, 1927, the third of six children. She graduated from Smithville High School in 1945. After working at the Boxboard (PCA) and StratAir in Rittman, she married Donald Emch in 1947. She was a full-time homemaker, having raised 4 children. She was active in her church for years, was an excellent seamstress who made draperies for Daley’s, her husband’s furniture store, loved taking trips with her family (camping when the children were at home and motorcycle trips later on). She moved from Wadsworth to Columbus in 2009 to be closer to her family. She was a member of Linworth Baptist Church in Columbus. Mary was known for her outgoing, happy spirit, her infectious laugh, generosity, and her love for her family. Her husband of 62 years, Donald; her parents; her siblings Ralph Walters, Elizabeth Berry, Lillian Montgomery, and Claribel Anliker; and her granddaughter Rachel Green preceded Mary in death. She is survived by her children, Marilyn (Gary) Miller of Englewood, Daryle of Columbus, Nancy (Daniel) Green of Columbus, and Marcia (Andrew) Berry of St. Martins UK; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
