Mary Lou Cush (nee Norris) of Westerville, OH, age 69 died on Friday, June 27 at Kobacker House of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Dorothy Norris and sister Carol (Tom) Lang. She is survived by her sisters Brenda (James) Anderson and Margaret (Greg) Ritterbeck, brothers Patrick (Marsha) and Michael (Jenny) Norris, loving husband Edward Cush, sons Andrew (Kelly) and Brian (Carolyn), and grandchildren Camryn, Jacob, and Natalie. She was born in Zanesville, OH, and studied nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Columbus. She entered the Air Force as a nurse in 1968 and was a Medivac Flight nurse in Vietnam in 1970. She became a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Air Force in 1975 before it was common practice. She left active duty in 1980, but stayed in the Reserves until retirement in 1991. She became a full-time wife and mother and was involved in many charitable organizations through her church including Women’s Group, Hospice of Columbus, Cum Christo, WARM, and was a Eucharistic minister at St Paul’s Church in Westerville. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, July 1 at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St. Westerville. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Wednesday July 2 at St Paul Catholic Church of Westerville.The Rev. Fr. David Gwinner Celebrant.  In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to The Kobacker House (https://www.ohiohealth.com/foundation-hospice/) or Ohio Right to Life (http://www.ohiolife.org/donate).
