George H. Evans, Jr. Age 71 , went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on January 6, 2016. He was a resident of New Albany, OH. He was born July 15, 1944 in Upper Darby, PA. He was the son of the late George H. Evans and Marian Lynch Evans. He was employed as Director of Association Developments at OPOC.US for many years. Prior to that he worked AOPHA and has many friends in the nursing home business. George was a 1963 graduate from Valley Forge Military Academy; He attended Hartwick College in New York and Parsons College in Iowa, graduating 1967 with a BA degree. He then joined the US Army and served from 1968-1970 where he was an honorably discharged Vietnam Veteran.

George is survived by his beloved wife Anne of 25 years, a daughter Kara Evans of Port Clinton, Jeff Underwood (Karen) of Conway, AR, Jennifer Clark (Dan) of Colorado Springs, CO, Rebecca Swisher of Columbus, OH plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A sister Patricia Franz (John) Dorchester, NH. Uncle William McKeldin of Hilton Head, SC., Nephew Carl Franz (Amy) and niece Kartina Hansen (Erik) and grandniece Gretchen, many cousins, extended family, loving friends and lots of fur babies who he loved very much, especially his Chinese Crested YoYo. George was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan and also enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie. He loved going to dog shows with his wife and photography.

In lieu of flower donations can be made in his memory to Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave., Columbus, OH 43201.
